Abstract
On June 26, 2026, the First Affiliated Hospital of Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine completed the installation and commissioning of a small animal super-resolution ultrasound system, officially putting it into service on its Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) scientific research platform.
Equipped with Ultrasound Localization Microscopy (URM) super-resolution imaging technology, the system captures microvascular blood flow in small animals with micron-level resolution. It is tailored for pharmacological mechanism research in TCM concerning cardiovascular, cerebrovascular, neurological, and oncological diseases. Offering non-invasive, real-time dynamic imaging, the system significantly improves observational precision in preclinical TCM experiments.
The deployment of this high-precision equipment addresses previous limitations in small animal imaging at the hospital. It empowers the visual investigation of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine pharmacology as well as TCM therapeutic efficacy, establishing a solid high-end hardware foundation for regional innovative TCM research.
