YEERAN SCIENCE | Successful Conclusion of Cardiac Modeling & Ultrasound Imaging Workshop (Xi'an)

From June 27 to 28, 2026, the "YEERAN SCIENCE | EchoTech Hands-on Workshop on Cardiac Animal Modeling and Echocardiography (Xi'an Stop)", organized by YEERAN SCIENCE, was successfully held.

The defining highlight of this workshop was the seamless synergy between refined surgical modeling techniques and cutting-edge imaging applications.

The workshop specially invited Ms. Yan Ru, a senior specialist from the Cardiovascular Research Institute at the General Hospital of Ningxia Medical University, as the principal instructor for cardiac modeling. Leveraging her 14 years of research expertise in cardiovascular disease, Ms. Yan delivered systematic instructions on key surgical procedures and her proprietary surgical technique for the murine transverse aortic constriction (TAC) model.

Meanwhile, the professional instructor team from Yiren Hengye led the echocardiographic image acquisition and workstation-based training, providing hands-on coaching to help participants master cardiac function assessments and image optimization strategies. In addition, Dr. Zhao Yunfeng, Research Applications Manager at VINNO, was on-site to offer expert technical guidance.

Attracting researchers from across China, this intensive two-day curriculum of integrated theory and practice delivered a comprehensive, end-to-end technical deep-dive spanning from model generation to functional evaluation.

Day 1 · Modeling Day: Starting with precise cardiovascular anatomy and theory, Ms. Yan demonstrated her original TAC surgical procedure. During small-group practical sessions, participants performed hands-on operations under personalized roving guidance, systematically overcoming key hurdles to model reproducibility and stability.

Day 2 · Echocardiography Day: Instructor Li Hezhu systematically explained the progression and evolution of echocardiographic parameters across various post-TAC intervals. Subsequently, Yeeran’s professional team guided small groups through hands-on scanning on ultrasound platforms. Participants scanned modeled mice in real time to monitor cardiac morphological and functional alterations, successfully translating the previous day's surgical models into high-quality diagnostic datasets.

Upon completion of the program, certificates of completion were awarded to all qualified trainees, and a dedicated long-term technical support community was established to continually assist researchers in their scientific journeys.
